Toshiba Satellite L655D-S5148 Power light on, but won't start

Hey everyone! I am having some trouble with my Toshiba laptop after 4 years of use. Before my computer died, i had a lot of over-heating issues which started about 3 months ago or so. Every month i had to re-apply thermal paste in order for me not to shutdown during computer games(WoW,LoL,etc). Two days ago, right after applying new thermal paste i tried to turn it back on, but my computer did not turn back on. I think the board may at least be partially alive because the power light comes on and if the battery is in it will charge.

I have tried looking for the schematics online, but i could not find it. I know my power jack is fine because it reads the 19v. I am just not sure what to do now... I will end up getting a new laptop, but i would like to revive this one from it's shallow state. If anyone can toss me any ideas they will be appreciated! Thanks =)

Hey thanks for replying. I have two sticks of memory, the LCD pins seem fine, and the CPU is screwed in. I also forgot to mention this: As soon as I plug my laptop in I can hear a soft hum coming from the motherboard and the hum changes a bit when I hit the power button. I'm not sure if that's common, but thought I'd note that.

I will re-do those steps to see if I missed anything.
