Hi there

I was wondering if anybody would point me in the right direction to source this connector and flexi cable please?
Is it an FPC, is that the name I search for?

I am wanting to order the connector that was ripped off the board, hence why in for repair, and the flexi cable.
It seems its a 30 way, with the flap that closes down.

I am not sure the pitch of the connector, because I dont have a Manual/Parts manual.

Assuming these are the flexes for the audio/USB board, the manual states:

"The USB/audio board high-power cable is available using spare part number L70820-001. The USB/audio board low-power cable is available using spare part number L70821-001".

Not cheap either. However you can buy the USB/Audio board (L70818-001) with the cables quite cheap from here:

I'd reckon the connector on it is the same as on the motherboard, so you can steal it off the old one.

Looking at the cables and pinouts, the connector looks to me to be a 30 pin FPC, R/A, front insert, back flip, bottom contact. Pitch is distance between the pins (I'd say 0.5mm). I use Digikey's parametric search to find these usually.

Usually yes. Best to check on the datasheet of the connector to verify.

The connector on the audio daughterboard will be identical so you can use that for reference for measurements and do a parametric search. I'd probably just get the daughterboard with the flex cables, less work and probably cheaper option overall.

FFC connectors can have bottom, top or dual contact. I think the dual contact should be fine even if the one you have fitted is bottom contact only.

Check with Digikey, Mouser etc for stock for the Amphenol or Molex connectors.

i was going to order the connector at £0.89 and postage was £15.00 ... Sheesh!

I saw a whole working unit in eBay for £20.00
It seemed sensible to order it, just incase the unit has other faults on it
