Dell Inspiron 5420 No display, No GFX_Core misssing.

Hi i have dell inspiron 5420. in first it has not power i have replaced ITE8518. Now its power ok but no display. I checked PL16 GFX_core voltage missing. This page have no any short. How can i troublshoot this problem and fix it. Also want to know what is enable voltage for gfx_core in NCP6132A. PLS Help me.... Thanks advance. Project code: DA0R08MB6E2 REV: E2

What are the voltages on the pins of PQ37?
What is the resistane relative to ground on PL16 without power supply plugged?

pq37 pin, 1=0v
pin 2 3 4=19v
pin5 6 7=0v
pin 8=0v
gnd to PL16=96 resistance

you need to check PU7 - NCP6132A pin 43 for voltage because the gate for PQ37 its there.

your n channel fet will not open without the gate.
you got 19v on Drain but you don`t have any voltage on Gate.
you need to find the problem for your gate.
NCP6132A its a "CPU Voltage Regulator"

i cant find gate voltage from NCP6132A. now i want to know which input voltage recquire for enable gate voltage on NCP6132A. also NCP6132A gives cpu core but not gives gfx_core. is NCP6132A bad? or which pin check for enable gate voltage.

Check voltage on pins 26, 27, 47, 48 of PU7. Check resistance to ground on pins 41, 42, 43 without power supply connected.

resistance pin to gnd
pin 41=440
pin42=125
pin43=571
voltage on pin 26= 1.12v
pin 27=1.12
pin47=0.01v
pin48=5.25v

You should have voltage on pin 47. Check rail. Start by checking pins 49, 50, PR116, PR119, PC96, etc.

Reflash the bios if still the same try to reball the PCH

Hi Guys same problem with a bit difference . PL16 no power ,after Flashing bios , say about 19-20 seconds PL16 power comes .And when comes . Amps reading at PS FALLS .50 TO .38 Amps. checked with other CPU still no display
