The laptop appears to be dead. I plugged in the charger and the charge LED does not illuminate. I removed the battery and the led still does not illuminate nor will it boot. I imagine the battery charge was depleted because the voltage was not getting through to the battery. I think the problem seems to be with the startup circuitry.
I suspect it may be a trench mosfet chip or another chip. I cannot find a valid schematic for this particular board nor part numbers. So please, is there anyone who has repaired one of these units with a similar problem and can provide IC part numbers and chip locations of the possible problem areas. I would really appreciate it.

Apply your mind step by step.
01.Locate dc-in mosfets and check voltage on pin1-4-8 of these two mosfets.
02.Locate CLR(Current sensing resistor) and check 19V reaches there or not.
03.If yes,then proceed to locate 3V regulator Ic and check presence of 3V LDO.
04.Note the markings of SIO and locate any other schematics with same SIO and probe its basic requirements.
05.Take backup of existing bios and flash a clean me bios.

These are the few basic steps which you should take and update us about your findings.
Without any info its not possible for anyone to suggest anything valuable.

Start with the power adapter. Does this adapter offer ~19v to power the laptop?

If yes, attach this adapter to the logic board and follow the advice in post #2. Near the power connector should be 2 x DCin mosfets. Check the voltage to ground of these mosfets (source / drain pins). In this power path, the ~19 volts should travel onto the main power rail. So far, unable to locate a schematic for this logic board. However, you can be our eyes on this model. Share the topside markings and/or pics of the DCin mosfets and also the charger IC onboard.

All schematic may not be available freely. So you've to start somewhere.
