Thanks for the advice. I am having trouble trying to find schematics for this laptop

The laptop appears to be dead. I plugged in the charger and the charge LED does not illuminate. I removed the battery and the led still does not illuminate nor will it boot. I imagine the battery charge was depleted because the voltage was not getting through to the battery. I think the problem seems to be with the startup circuitry.
I suspect it may be a trench mosfet chip or another chip. I cannot find a valid schematic for this particular board nor part numbers. So please, is there anyone who has repaired one of these units with a similar problem and can provide IC part numbers and...

Steveb I have attached a few photos of the motherboard for you to look at...

As far as I know no water damage. The unit boots normally with or without the battery. The other unit is the exact same model. The only difference is that the good working one detects the ac adapter and the bad one does not.
I cannot check dcin because I do not have schematics. can anyone provide a link to schematics. thanks for responding

I have a HP Probook 640 G4 laptop which does not detect the DC charger and therefore will not charge the battery. I checked the dc adapter on another working probook 640 and it functions adequately.
I checked the voltages coming in on the motherboard connector from the DC adapter to the bad unit and measured one voltage to be 19vdc and the other the center pin to be about 0.8vdc. I tested the battery and it was found to be OK.
I am not sure what the center pin voltage should be. I suspect the problem to be a component on the dc input line on the motherboard but I do not have any schematics...

Thanks for responding. I need to dissassemble it. I really need a schematic of the circuit
from input power adapter to the battery. There is a an IC MUX switch that could be causing this trouble.
