Dell Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme, help !

It is working but the screen looks like the backlight isn't working on the display but my friend had tried an entire replacement assembly and it didn't seem to work after replacing the display, so he returned it assuming that the original display should still be in working condition as it was before it suddenly "died" on him - some things happened with the computer but nothing that should have damaged the display components physically... I really wish I had a little better understanding of what voltages/resistances I should be testing for and where to start looking first but I don't think I ever found the schematic only the boardview which for someone more experienced than myself would be plenty but I'm not positive on the signal names to look for and I'm certain someone can shave a few hours off the time I spend on this by narrowing down what I terms or voltages I should look for, or nets to trace,

I did try cleaning the ME partition of the bios after hoping that a previous flash was responsible for the backlight not working and that didn't seem to fix things either. Display totally works external monitor and built-in, just no backlight at all.

Interesting device. The first thing you want to check is whether the Main Power Rail voltage (typically 19V) reaches the display connector.
