    Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 15IMH05 GY530/GY531/GY532  NM-C871 Rev 2.0

Hello everyone, I come here in search of wisdom and hope.

I got this laptop with charging problems, apparently it charged ok while turned off but it would not charge while powered on, anyways I was doing initial measurements looking at the voltaje on the ID Pin, it is a 135W DC Adapter and the pin actually measured 1.9V that looks ok, anyways, while doing that, I accidentally shorted the ID pin DETECT(ID) with one of the 20V pins, sparkles and it automatically killed the TVS Diode PD102, and also made a cute burning hole on the middle of the KBC or EC chip UE1, it is a IT8227E-128 .

I need confirmation that this EC needs to be programmed if replaced ?
Is there hope for this laptop to be revived ?
Sadly I do not have an SVOD or Vertyanov to even try to work with this, is there any place I can get the new EC already programmed?

Any comments or help , greatly appreciated.

    Motherboard: GY530/GY531/GY532 NM-C871 Rev 2.0

First, you need to remove the EC and PD102 and check resistance to GND on CLR/3V LDO/ 3V Coil. If everything is ok, proceed to replace these two parts. Yes IT8227E is programmable and there are few sites which offers this chip pre programmed. However, there is afair chance that EC will program itself on first boot if you flash clean me new main bios.

Thank you for your response, I will remove it and measure 3V line and update.
Also could you or anyone point me to one of those sites with preprogramed EC as an option just in case? thanks!

I know its been a while, I cut the trace from PU2001 pin 3 line +3VLP and pin 3 is not shorted and reads 3.3v correctly, however PC2003 is still shorted, so LDO looks fine, I still need to remove EC from the board yes?
Also is there another way to program the EC other than SVOD or Vertyanov? greets!

Yes, you should remove it to check if short is gone, yes some KBC like kbc9012 can be flashed with spi like a BIOS, look this tuto and see if you can adapt it to your SIO https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQGH6yZuXCc&t=769s

ITE SIO is relatively tougher to program compared to ENE. You need a SIO programmer to do that. There are cheap clones of vertyanov but dont know how they behaves. Personally, I use SVOD

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 15IMH05 - BIOS REQUEST
                by mrgumshot
                Hi all,

I've got a Lenovo ideapad gaming 3 15IMH05 with a black screen issue. I've tried a BIOS file which i saw in another post and changed some things in a Hex editor.
So i transfered the DMI info from my original BIOS to the one i got from the post. Flashed it to the chip and the laptop was booting again but very slow post.

After a couple of boots it went back to black screen again. Tried to flash the same BIN file on it which i used before but its staying at the black screen now unfortunately.

I hope someone can help me out. Attached is my ORIGINAL...

Hi wondering if anyone can help with fixing my bios. Currently experiencing power on but flashing power led.
I'll attach the old one and the link the model from Lenovo Website and what I got extracted from that exe file. I removed the excess lines and will attach that one too but flashing it didn't seem to work.

I have the laptop in the title and have had it for about 5 years. Was mine and shared it with my kids for about 2 years, then a year of just the kids and last year just my son. He plays on it about 8 hours a day. We regularly make sure to clean out the blower and heatsinks.

About a year ago the screen started to act up. Sometimes coming on, sometimes not. Sometimes "bowing" the screen would get it going. About 8 months ago bottom side of the...
