    HP DV6 2010SS blink twice and no video

    Hi everybody,

    I have a HP DV6 2010 and has no video. I tried changing RAM and slight reflow on GPU and northbridge and no video and keyboard reaction.

    I also checked all secondaty voltages and all are OK. CPU, VGA, Memory are powered.

    HP support web page says that 2 blinks is BIOS problem, but I think that these blinks are not very reliable. In HP webpage says that my bios is VersiónF.13.

    Do you think next step is to update BIOS or I can try something more?

    Hello,

    What gpu does this one have? Does it have an ati graphics card? It might be from it despite the reflowing. If you can first replace it or reball.

      Try to reflash BIOS, the same problem on Compaq CQ61-310 and it works

        GPU is ATI. It has nortbridg ATI too.
        I dont want to reball a ATI BGA if it blinks 2 times for BIOS.
        So, I am not sure if it is GPU or it is nortbridg.

        I tried to update bios with USB stick but no luck.

          Let the reflash of Bios at the end.
          Try to reflow Both chipset, i had the same problem at Dv6-1212sl and Dv6-2007el, now the 1° it's ok, the 2° not yet, Check PU3 (ISL6265HRTZ), and the continuti of PQ47 and Pq46 all is (Si7636DP), between D and S.

            I have same problem with DV6-3130 .Twice blink !
            I take bios chip away from motherboard and try to reprogram it with SPI proggy
            EZP2010 .
            I download new bios from HP page but programmer report that file is to long.
            However its programed up to 2 MB ? file was even more that 2MB !
            I solder chip back but laptop refuse to start at all !
            My question is what to do with to long file ?
            Split it? How to find what is bios inside that file?

                      Anyway after a bit of searching i found the way to get right bios from file
                      i download from HP.
                      I did use the PhoenixTool 2.01 (free download)
                      and that program give me correct bios (2MB) !

                        post the bios file after you manage to get it right.

                        post the bios file here that its working with your notebook maybe someone will need it.

                          Finally I update the bios and laptop power on and has video now.

                          I knew that in this case it is not video and reballing. Not all problems are reballing and GPU.

                            Its not neccesery !
                            Just take bios from HP support site and put it in PhonenixTool and program give it to you!
