Hey Forum,
I have a dead Acer Laptop from a friend. Find out that its a Mobo fault because Screen is working on other mobo and there are 19V on Power Jack that are going over the two Mosfets into the Mobo. So its actually charging too but no matter what i Do the leds wont come on. So i went over to the 5v and 3v Section and there is nothing at both. The 5v Rail is okay so no short but at the 3v Rail theres a short at PJ401 and on both sides from the Coil PL402 but on the capacitors there is no short. So i found a 19V 3.42Amps Charger (it works) plugged it into the Mobo and the Step Down Controller (PU401) went Hot and smoked. I bought a New Chip from mouser and soldered it at the 3.3v Rail and now there are the 5v at the 5v Section but on the 3.3V Section there are no 3.3V at the coil but at the little capacitor marked in picture 1. So i desoldered the coil and saw that there is a little crack on the Mobo where the coil is connected to the ic. So i thought that theres no connection between the ic and the coil and the Laptop could not Power up because of this. Then i looked on the Datasheet from the "SY8208BQNC" and saw that Pin 1 should be connected to the coil and desoldered the ic again and put a copper wire from pin 1 to the coil and soldered it back together. Now when i meassure the jumper pin pj401 it says that the whole Section is shorted to ground. And IT was right. I plugged the Charger and He goes immeadetly off. What do i did wrong guys? I tried to solder the copper wire from the capacitor to the coil but the the ic goes Smoking and goes Hot?! Is the resistance from the copper wire to short?
I attached the schematic to the topic.
