    Toshiba C660

    Anyone know if the C660 motherboards with RPGA-989 sockets are compatible with Ivy Bridge (i5-3xxx series)?

    They are mechanically compatible but I don't know if they're compatible at BIOS level. I'm looking to repair this C660 base and fit a decent i5 to replace my desktop with.

      To answer my own question, no compatibility is there at chipset level. So not sure why they used an RPGA989 socket instead of RPGA988A. But it's there in Intel's chipset compatibility, 2nd gen processors only.
