What about the DC plug on the PCB do you measure anything in there?

      Re: Sony laptop troubleshoot

you can start by checking your dc jack if its ok. you can tell by trying to fit in the plug into the jack. if jack is good, try removing laptop battery and charger, press power button long enough to discharge stored power on capacitors. try to power on with charger only.
nothing happens? try using an ohmmeter if the center pin and ground is shorted. whatever the result, laptop should be opened so you can test signals from it starting from dc jack.

sometimes a shorted keyboard will not power up a laptop. (liquid spilt)

If there is evidence that the laptop had fall on the ground, all that you need to do as first step is to unplug and reconnect all the ribbon cables in it.

Plan B: Inspect the top PCB (power switch) if all those PCB lines are out of damage.

Plan C: Start crying and sale it on eBay with the title : For parts or not working.
