it has power. after a mild reflow, laptop turns off after few seconds

found one close...

btw, have worked on the same model?

compaq cq41 if no display always problem with ati 216-072001 chip. please replace if u failed to reflow.

there two way to solve you problem. soft and hard. Soft way first check Ram,Proccesor and video chip last bios. For the last step you need a Bios programmer. Hard way you have to check all voltage rails.

thanks for your sharing i was found must be 1.5 VP on schematic but that is 8 volt is that failure consumtion voltage on PL 401 ?

pin 5 6 7 8 = 18.5 volts
pin 1 2 3 = 1.8 vols
you have to check 18.5 rail for a shortcircut

i was check for pq401 if power on
pin 5 6 7 8 = 18.5 volt
but
pin 1 2 3 = 10.9 volt
pin 4 = 10.6 volt
i was check for pq401 if power of
pin 5 6 7 8 = 18.5 volt
but
pin 1 2 3 = 0 volt
pin 4 = 0 volt

Do you have on pin 4,10 ,+5ALWAY ?. Pin 1 EN .. this signal from I/O EC controller enabled PU 401 if all of is correct. Check EC controller voltage and bios

i was check PU401 POWER OFF

PIN 4 , 10 = +5 VOLT

KEEP SHARING MASTER

STILL NO DISPLAY

lift up oq401 and check it. Also what you need is the TPS51117 datasheet
