I have one of this crap sony SVE151J13M with crap mb mbx-269 hk5 .
The symptom is when i press pwbtn....
the power + battery led flashes.....
After 20 seconds (or more) start up...
vaio logo comes on lcd....
operating system not found.
i try to boot from usb via vaio care menu + f11 but nothing the same msg operating system not found.
any suggestions??

Hi !

I have the same problem 2 sec then it shut's down did you solve it with the bios flash.

I've had the same problem "shutting down after 1-2 seconds and a cycle trying to power on after 6-8 seconds". Solved it by reprogramming the bios chip.

well having same issue , now , usually does on the bench with bios reflash stay ok . but can be also a power rail problem or sense current detecting overflow of current in charger circuit .

i am write new bios Attached Files (SVE1511N1RW_HM70_HK5_MBX-269_bios_clr_me.rar )
notebook working now but have enteresting problem bios see hdd but not boot
fast boot or secure boot not
SVE151G13M for true bios file please help thanks

Check voltage on PU103 pin number 3 must be 4.9v and pin number 1 SHDN enable volt 3.3 for enable and run the power Chip constantly ,I found problem with PR328, Hope its help you

Check "audio out" connector.
Sometimes jack port is broken inside and then laptop speakers are disabled.
It is the same like you connect headphones.

Hello,

Sorry for revive old post...
I have same model with same MB version, my problem is laptop doesn't turn on or show any lights...
I check connectors all OK MB have 3v, 5v, 19v across all MB. PU100 have all correct voltages. Anyone had same problem or any tip i can try?
Also i reflashed BIOS, still no signal

Have You check 3.3v on EC? , Try to replace I/O Controller then check ,ensure the correct bios you have flashed,

3.3V are OK. Bios is correct

Hi guys!

I have a broken mbx-269, too.
I can turn it on. The Fan spins and the power led lights up. Charging indicator lights up, too. It doesn't seem to start up, but its trying to. You can hear quiet pops from the speaker like twice a second. Looks like its constantly resetting.
What should I check?

Hello guys !

I have same model but my problem is little different.
When I press the power button, orange led and green led are light up and when I release the button the led off.Also the IC U16 is hot (SLJ8E)
Any advice?

I had the same problem, but only after some time. At first I could turn it on with fan spinning but no screen. Later it was like you described above, don't know what happend.

But now I could completely recover this machine by flashing MBX_269.rar, thank you!

BTW: Before erasing the flash, I made a complete dump of its contents. Is it possible to recover the SLIC tables from this dump?
