lost hdd encryption key on thinkpad t420s

As the title says. Rather than replacing the had altogether, are there any methods of resetting or deleting the contents so that I may use the drive again?

Went on the Lenovo website and downloaded the erase disk utility yet it won't let me boot the CD drive first.

How the hell do I configure the BIOS so that it ignores the SSD HDD?

The drive is an Intel 320 Series (160GB SSD) 2.5"
