Dell Vostro 1500 power jack. same as Latitude?

I have family visiting over Easter and they're bringing me a Vostro 1500 to fix.

I have a spare power jack for the Latitude D800/810/820/830 series. I'm wondering if it's the same part. I think it is, one site
vlaptops.com lists the same part number for both, but other sites don't
so my Google-fu was inconclusive. Anyone know for sure?

To answer the question, yes they are the same.

That's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back...

And the funny part, it wasn't the problem. Should have known not to trust the diagnosis from somewhere else.

I'm NOT going back in there to troubleshoot. Not worth it on this old notebook

Ok, I said I wasn't gonna, but I did.
Measured the jack, and 19v is getting through it ok. 1st part of the circuit seems to be a FET and various bypass caps, and resistors. It heads off thru a 000 resistor then a tiny 0603 .1ohm resistor which is open.

For grins, I replaced it with a 3A 0603 fuse, and poof. It blew. THEN I measured the resistance, and the "downstream" side is shorted to ground. Course it heads down a via to the bottom of the board, and I have neither the patience nor the eyesight to continue tonight. Can't get a sharp photo to save my life, so will set up the camera and try again tomorrow if I get a decent amount of sleep.

Getting no-where with this. Tried to trace the circuit, but it's too small. and I don't have enough focus between being tired/busy and having the 7 month old Retriever interrupting me. I thought I found a shorted cap, but it was fine out of circuit. But then I didn't solder it in very well, and it behaved oddly. Now it measures about 400 ohims (perhaps I overheated it)
Getting better at surface mount soldering. removed an 8 pin FET, tested it and put it back using flux and a hot air re-work and it sat down and aligned itself just like in the movies.

For fun I replaced the original blown .1 ohm resistor with 2 10 ohm 1/4W resistors in parallel and fed the motherboard 19V current limited to 500ma. The resistors got hot, the FET got warm (it's feeding the short later in the circuit) but nothing else got noticeably warm. I may give up.
