Dell precision M65

Hi. need advice about this error.

system is not owerheating, is not laging or hanging etc. it work normal, but picture is little confuze, is not clear, letters is like broken on parts, and around menu's-windows got little changing shade of color, and little horizontal lines show time ti time, but on right end of screen allways got one pixel width cyan vertical line.

Is possible to got bad screen and all is OK with nvidia graphic ?

Connect an external VGA monitor, and post results.

Hi Francisco. I try on external and work OK. also work without any problems with Teamviewer remote desktop solution. But in most cases it will work OK on external monitor even if got dots lines on primary screen, these are my experience.

I found under (cooler) Nvidia graphic chip copper sheet, and a little blue shade on core, so i susspect that in the past this chip got overheating issue.

Im in dilema, is any sugestions ?

Little update, I make images for comparison with primary and external screen.

I would ask for opinions, is the screen or graphics ? Since the primary display got to the right one vertical line, tend to screen defect ?

Probably the Nvidia graphic chip is bad due to extreme overheating. If you have an oscilloscope (a good one), you can check the lvds signals, but I know it is very difficult to trace those signals.

Hi. I apologies, I forgot post if I fix this problem.

I was be almost sure that the screen is bad (because that vertical line) but before I go and buy replacement screen I do small test, I removed the keyboard and palm rest, then use hair dryer, turn laptop ON, and with hair dryer gently heat nvidia chip Line and poor picture has disappeared, so I do reball and now work like swiss clock


@Francisco.s Is some information on net to see how to measure LVDS signal from laptop ?

I have made some research, and found many documents about measure LVDS signals, but you need good measuring instruments.
