    Disassembly Toshiba C850

    Hello,
I was hoping someone could point me to a service manual for this laptop. Not much on Google. This laptop appears dead and I want to get down to the motherboard for some tests. I've taken all the back screws out and the screws in the top cover, removed the keyboard, HDD, Ram, battery and it does pry apart to some extent but the motherboard appears to be attached to the palm rest (upper) panel still and I can't see how the LCD panel is attached. I have taken many laptops apart but follow guides in manuals and videos as a rule. I can't find one for this laptop and I don't want to force anything. Has anybody here taken one apart? Grateful for advice.

Well, I have made some progress. This type of laptop has the motherboard attached to the upper (palm rest) panel.

You must find all the top and bottom screws which are usually visible. Then the top cover will pop off. Link below is for an earlier model, but should be close.

      What is warranty status?

Hi Obmar. It is out of warranty. It doesn't boot at all. It's about 18 months old so there is still limited information on the net. I have taken out all the bottom and top screws. I think it needs a bit of brute force now.....just a little.
