help me troubleshoot compaq laptop

i forgot the exact model I left it on our store

btw

this has no battery indicator and has indicator on dc jack
only
no power or blinks

check all the power capacitor - all shorted
check the 330uf -- all shorted
ne cap- all shorted
some ic near dc jack shorted still i cant find the shorted part thats making the other parts shorted.



the one on the left pic ic i almost burn the chip but still i cant remove it using hotair to check if it is shorted ive used flux same problem



i dont have pic on the other side but same shorted also
checked dc output good
put the black probe on ground and red probe on cap or any parts no voltage is going in
but in the other side has but on near dc only ic and cap

Try desolder ene chip and then test if other still shorted.

this looks like a dv6000 motherboard, trying unsoldering the chips close the the cpu to see if the short will go, it is most likely on the those chip gone bad, or check the 10mm caps for cracked or burnt.
