    Lenovo y520 VRAM replacement

    Hi everbody,

    I had error code 43 on y520, gtx 1050, 2GB Micron ram.
I assumed it was related to VRAM error as it usually is on y520 (all voltages present), so I replaced it with also Micron, but 8Gb modules, so 4GB in total.

It didn't solve problem. There are some strap resistors (photo attached), originally there was R187, R193 and R194 installed, other 3 was empty. I didn't touched that. As far as I understand that's already configured as L-L-H. Not sure what L-L-M should be.

There is no VBIOS chip on board, I guess those VBIOS files are stored inside main BIOS as that board was shipped both with 1050 and 1050ti.

    Any thoughts guys?
    Thanks!

M might mean Mid as in both resistors of the voltage divider are fitted, but I've never seen that setup. Anyway you could try running MATS.

Yeah, I tried that already. Mats returns me "segmentation fault", also reports 155648MB of ram (or similar number, not sure anymore). Same was with old ram.
