2020 Acer Swift SF114-32-P6M2 (model N17W6): expanding internal storage

Hello everyone! This is my first post, hopefully I won't break any rules.

I have an Acer Swift SF114-32-P6M2 (model N17W6) from 2020. Here's a picture of all its labels.

It came with a 64gb SSD hard drive. I would now like to add some more internal storage.

Upon opening, there is an empty M2 port.
I plugged in a Crucial P3 1To M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD CT1000P3SSD801 into it, but my laptop doesn't detect it.

    My questions are:

    - why doesn't it work?

    - is my motherboard or M2 port NVMe-compatible?
    Motherboard info:
    Manufacturer: GLK
    Product: Sapporo_GL_S
    Version: V1.11
I've tried but couldn't find the manual for this motherboard. I couldn't even find a website for GLK. I might be missing something that's obvious to you guys. I think this file *might* describe my laptop's motherboard, but the name doesn't perfectly match ("Sapporo_GLK_MB 17891-1M" vs. my laptop's "GLK Sapporo_GL_S"), and I'm not completely sure what to make of it (I searched the document for "NVMe" and couldn't find it, but "SATA" appears on the Board Block Diagram on page 2, next to what I guess is an M2 port... so assuming this is the correct document, that would mean I bought the wrong kind of storage, right?)

    - if it isn't, or if for some reason I picked the wrong storage, may you please direct me to an appropriate option? (500Gb/1Tb will do)

Any help from you wise computer men would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance for your time and effort. Please tell me if you need more info.

I've seen it detailed in other places that the M.2 port is SATA only in some models and doesn't support NVME. (“SATA and PCIe devices vary depending on model and PCB BOM type”). Can you try an M.2 SATA drive and see if that works?

      Hi ianbak,

      Thank you for your message.
I just plugged in a 1Tb-M.2 SATA drive (Fikwot FN203 1To M.2 SATA SSD - SLC Cache 3D NAND TLC SATA III 6Gb/s M.2 2280 NGFF) and it works perfectly.

So the Acer Swift SF114-32-P6M2 (model N17W6)'s M.2 port does NOT support NVMe - only SATA.

I've read somewhere it can't handle anything higher than 1Tb though. Not sure whether this is true or not but just to be on the safe side I stuck to 1Tb, which is already way better than the original 64gb

Thank you for your help, I hope my messages will help others too.
