Dell Inspiron 15-3511 NO charge battery

    Dell Inspiron 15-3511 NO charge battery

    Hi, Can you help me on the LAPTAOP Dell Inspiron 15-3511 with motherboard GDM50-LA-L241p, it lights up very well with charger but does not charge the battery, the charging light flashes orange, if you put a new battery the pc turns on, but even with a new battery the pc does not charge the battery.

    I'm not very good at schematics, but I believe that pub01 has a problem, it does not deliver a strong enough voltage on the gate (UG1_CHG: 6v) of the mosfet PQ026

    I did not find any shorts or resistance dead, the ISL95869HRTZ is well powered at 19v.

    Do you advise me to change it? I don't have the intensil ISL95522AHRZ chip, but I have an intenseil 95859A, 88748H, 9538H chip, would it be compatible please?

    PQ26 :
    PIN 5 : 19V stable
    PIN 4 : 6v
    PIN 123 : 6v

    battery plugged in : 9V stable but too weak

    95859A (PUB01) : DCIN 19v stable

    It is often caused by a internal shorted DC-IN Mosfet, which is pretty easy and fast to rule out. In your case PQB11 and PQB12

        Sure? Did you check them with multimeter in Ohms or diode mode or from where comes the conclusion?

          Yes mode diode 400 and OL and and both are at 19v, I checked all the mosfets, they are all good in diode mode.


          Do you know how UG1_CHG is delivered? I think the problem comes from there

            When the battery and power adapter are both attached, does windows report that the battery is present? Does the charge icon appear in this case?

            Each battery pack features a bms module that will communicate over smbus (i2c) with the host. Confirm the voltage to ground of each pin on the battery pack while it is connected to the logic board. Need to confirm that the smbus lines are at the 3v3 level for the SCL and SDA pins. Post each measurement.

              YES windows shows it is loading

              PIN 123 : 9V25
              PIN 4 : 3V5
              PIN 5 : 9V18
              PIN 6 : 0V
              PIN 789 AND 10 : GND

              +3VALWP : 3V
              +5VALWP : 5V
              +3VALW_EC : 3V38

                      Pin5 of battery connector is SMBUS DATA and it cant be 9V under any circumstance. Should be stable 3.3V. findout why its showing 9V.

                        I can't find anything on pin 5, +3VALW_EC measures 3V3 and it is stable so I don't understand why DAT_SMB doesn't have it

                        This resistor connected to pin 6 is connected to GND, and measures 900Kohms, is this normal? maybe it's a pair of shorts that burnt out the resistance? I don't know if it's PR39,
