HP Pavilion 15-eg 1000 does not start.

    Dear Experts,

    Board Name : DA0G7HMB8H0

1- Do the latest boards have 13 volt as VIN instead of the usual 19 volt ? DC jack light glows fine. I also have 5 Volt on the board.
2- RT6316B ( 3.3 Volt chip ) , when I plugin the adapter, I do have 3.3 on the coil for first few seconds and then it drops to 0. There is NO PGOOD on the chip ever. IS that a sign of bad chip ?

P.S: Already tried flashing the BIOS.

Any insights on this will be really helpful

    Thanks

NVDC is the new standard for most laptops, so 13V might be absolutely normal for the main power rail.

The issue needs way more detailed observation though. If 3.3V cones up for a short while, other power rails might too. Also resistances to GND of the various power rails might lead to the diagnose.

As @sephir0th has already mentioned about NVDC and i hope its clear to you that 8-13V as VIN is correct on may many boards with this architecture.

As far as your 2nd query is concerned, i"m rather surprised by your question from someone who is there since 2017 in the forum. Have you not read about Deep Sleep Well(DSW) concept? The mb doesnt start and you're looking for PG signal? Seems like crazy.

A laptop which doesnt even turn on-always start with the basics.
01.Check dc-in entry is correct with proper fet biasing.
02.Check 3V/5V LDO is present or not.
03.Check power button is relayed to SIO.
      04.Check LIDSW# status
      05.Flash bios with clean me.
06.Check the basic requirement of SIO.
07.Check Resistance to GND on all power Rails and coils.

Listed just a few steps and more digging may be needed depending on case to case.

I hope you take my criticism of your analysis/observation on this issue in a positive and constructive manner.
