Help identifying missing smd capacitor for HP elitebook 840 g3

In an unfortunate mishap while attempting to read from the bios chip, one of the smd capacitors took flight and disappeared.

I'm not sure how crucial this smd capacitor is, but it was a brown possibly ceramic one with no notable markings on it anywhere.

I've attached a picture of where it's located on the board.

Does anyone have an HP elitebook 840 g3 who might be able to aid me identifying this component. I'm not sure how crucial it is, but didn't want to risk it.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Most likely a typical despike capacitor that should be applied on each and every digital IC between the power rail (VCC pin) and ground. The value is often 0.1uf and the voltage rating of 6 volts or higher is fine. The local flash memory device is probably operating at 1v8 or 3v3.

Physical size appears to be 0402 or perhaps 0603. Suspecting the 0402 but both versions are dirt cheap from Digikey or Mouser. You should be able to find these on a donor motherboard as well.

This capacitor is nice to have but will not be a show stopper if it is missing.

mon2, thank you so very much for the detailed information! I ended up purchasing a very cheap donor board from eBay so I can replace the cap. Good to know that it's not going to result in any issues not being there.
