Hi,

I have an issue with my ASUS UX480FD that is very strange.

Everything seems ok but I have a black screen.

Battery charges, power button lights on when I press it but I have a black screen.

But quite a strange thing is that when I plug the charger even without turning on the laptop the PCH and the discrete NVIDIA GPU become hot !

If someone has the schematic and the boardview it would be great

CPU is damaged. Do note that without a heatsink, the CPU will be hot.

Sorry but not sure to understand your answer.

My CPU is DEAD ? It is what you're saying ?

I have not remove the heatsink to test.

I have a lot of voltages :

3,3,, 5v, 1v, 1.8v.

But i have a very low ohm value on 1v for pch (0.6 ohm !)

And if i use my bench power supply with 19v the board taking 300mA (power off).

The only voltage i cannot measure is the memory voltage (soldered on board).
I try to measure it on capacitors near ram but nothing.

0.6 Ohms at +1.05VALW (or similar) is actually worse. Inject up to 1Volts there and see what is getting warm/hot

If I inject 1V the PCH gets hot so I think it's dead

Yes if PCH is getting hot it's set dead

But I don't understand why the discrete GPU is getting hot too when I just plug the charger without turning on the laptop.
