Apple MacBook Pro 15" Retina i7 2.3Ghz 16GB Late 2013 water damaged - no power

I have acquired this Apple MacBook Pro 15" Retina i7 2.3Ghz 16GB Late 2013 and it is not powering on. No lights on charger and no chime.

Inspecting the unit shows liquid damage, indicators have gone red.

Can somebody help me to diagnose and repair the unit or where I should start?

    Thank you all.

Post the 820-**** model # from the logic board. It should be etched somewhere on the PCB.

Hi @mon2, long time no talk.

      It is 820-3787.

        Hey

No light on charger means the charger is defective OR missing 3v42 on the logic board.

Attach the power adapter. Carefully measure the voltage to ground on each pin on the dual common cathode diode @ D7005.

        Confirm that you have 3v42 @ L7095.

          Hi mon2,

          D7005:
          Pin 1 - 16.40V
          Pin 2: 12.25V
          Pin 3: 16.10V

          L7095:
          Pin 1 - 3.35V
          Pin 2 - 3.42V

I have tried two chargers both with same result - have confirmed they are working on other machines.

            From the Rosmann forums:
Are you using original 85W charger?
            Post SMC_ADAPTER_EN and PM_BATLOW_L values.
            3v42 is great.

PPBUS_G3H @ 12v25 (pin #2) is low and means SMC has not yet boosted this rail.

              Yes, original 85W charger.

              PM_BATLOW_L: 1.12V

SMC_ADAPTER_EN is reading 0.00 even on 200m mode.

If the voltage of SMC_ADAPTER_EN is 0 volts then the SMC is not enabled.

                  Can you confirm?

                    Hi mon2,

Can you help me with checking it?

Meter in DC volts mode (not resistance). Red meter probe on SMC_ADAPTER_EN. Black meter probe to ground.

Also, can you confirm that the magsafe LED is still off on BOTH adapters you have tested?

Yet, the same adapters will enable the magsafe LED on other units?

Yes I did that and is showing 0.00V even on 200m mode for SMC_ADAPTER_EN!

Yes it is OFF on both adapters but working on other units

(Carefully) Measure the voltage to ground for the attached 2 points of interest.
