HP Pavilion x360 14-ba150sa MOSFET question

    HP Pavilion x360 14-ba150sa (Mobo Bucks_UMA_MB 16872-1 448.OC203.0011)

This 3.3v regulator SY8286A has blown up but also when it's plugged into the power the two MOSFETs heat up a lot too.

Will they need replacing after I replace the 3.3v and if so, how do I identify them?

I found another schematic that had the same 3.3v regulator on it and it didn't appear to have any MOSFETs around it so I'm guessing I don't need it but just want to be sure so I can get the laptop back to the customer as quick as possible.

    Many thanks in advance.

Re: HP Pavilion x360 14-ba150sa MOSFET question

AWV is SY8286BRAC. This IC is rated to supply 6A via its internal drivers and external inductor, and isn't designed to drive external MOSFET's. So don't know about those two FET's and the heat could be a result of the buck converter failure. Replace the IC first, hopefully it didn't result in 19V being dumped onto the +3.3V rail.

BTW, it's not good practice to bypass protection and just inject 19V directly anywhere on a board. If you have a short further down the line (like CPU driver etc) this can result in the board going to the donor pile.
