Need a reference for a chip on Asus ChromeBook C423N

    Hello to all,

I have this chip that heats up abnormally around 60 degrees when I start my laptop and then turns off and then turns back on and does this over and over.

I can't find the reference of this chip nor at Richtek.

It is indicated LE = 5j
No short circuit on the lines.

    Do you have any idea?

I have almost exactly the same issue. My C423N sometimes it could turn on, sometimes it did not. After several times, it refused to power up completely.

When plug in power supply, this chip is burning hot. Measured the resistance over the capacitor on pin11, it was only 1.1ohm. Blew off the capacitor, the resistance was still 1.1ohm. The chip was still burning hot when plugged. Blew off the chip, guess what, the resistance was still 1.1ohm on that point.

Do not know where this pin goes, it may be the supply for some other circuits, that has partially shorted somewhere.

If you found out the cause of the issue, I would be very grateful if you could tell me.
        Many thanks.
