I attempted a few weeks ago to update BIOS, I never thought it was going to crash everything: it was with the internal update tool of the BIOS, everything went well until screen turned black, like no signal, before to go off mode.
I restarted pc, still nothing happening: the on/off button is white, but keyboard isn't recognized, screen doens't wake up.
I investigated how to restore previous bios, with USBdrive, removing the BIOS battery, pushing the reset button.... Nothing happening! I bought a ch341 clip to read what I think is the BIOS chip: a 8 legged bug with written MX25L12873F on it. I read it wih AsProgrammer, this is red_1.txt file
I'm now a bit lost. How can I debug and see what's wrong with my G5? Is it the wrong BIOS? I tried to flash from HP file, but AsProgrammer gave me the file is too large error. I tried to flash with a G5 mini bios I took here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...06av-bios-dump but nothing changed, still no screen.
Here are some details:
HP Renew Product PN:9HT28UCR#ABV SN: 8CC0153YMD it's this one

Thread merged. There are 2 chips , 16MB and 32MB , post the 32MB backup. Use NeoProgrammer software, choose the chip manually from the support list.
Many thanks for your reply. I read the chip in the BIOS marked zone in the board, there is a similar one above on the right, MX25L12873F also, but it's 16MB as well!!!! I thought it was 32
