https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...43&postcount=6 401000 - 40106F is the DMI area if you want to copy it from your bios backup to the new one.
No video output. Two beeps. Long pause. Two beeps. Repeat. Though the boards do detect when no RAM is present, by sounding one long beep then three short beeps.
A Chinese poster called 'yc630' provides some great information about these faulty boards. He posts his findings on the elvikom.pl and the chinafix.com forums. Apparently this is ultimately caused by a hardware fault with the N series ("Braswell") Pentium CPU.
yc630 writes:
"The reason for that is the BIOS can't communicate with the onboard SIO/EC, IT8618E, which is responsible for reporting the fan speed back to the BIOS. The primary reason of the communication failure was a result of the degraded LPC bus, especially the LPC CLK."
That insightful poster yc630 offers a fix of sorts. Using a 150 ohm resistor to pull-up the LPC CLK line. Though apparently this only works "if the LPC bus hasn't degraded too much".
I will test it myself and report back.

Just to report the problem persists; as suggested, the 150ohm pull-up resistor was strapped to the LPC CLK line, but made no difference. The board still repeatedly sounds two beeps, and video remains dead.
Another thread by poster yc630 is more optimistic. He/she eventually recovered the IBSWME board by reflashing the BIOS after it stopped booting. Though there are several board variants and different BIOS revisions which apparently are not compatible with each other.

The bios could be different depending on the machine type.If you want to try a bios post your backup and the serial number on the caseComment

by jendkkd jejeSo a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.
I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...10-11-2024, 03:12 PM -
by abhorsenHey guys,
Hope you all are doing well. I come here from Win-Raid because I am having issues disabling Flash Protection Range Registers so I can flash my BIOS from within Windows using Intel's IFW tool/using flashrom within Linux, however I cannot due to the above mentioned error.
Here is my thread on Win-Raid detailing the whole process I went through: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/re...h-gen/95478/27
Essentially I managed to boot into Windows while shorting PINs 1+5 of my audio chip to disable the HAP bit...-

by akwkyHi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).
Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...04-14-2025, 01:56 PM -

Hi, my laptop suddenly shut down while it was running. When I try to turn it back on, the screen stays black and it emits a melodic beep.
I used Lenovo's SmartBeep decoder and it returned error 0284:"TCG-compliant functionality-related error (possibly BIOS code validation failure)"
I then tried to enter crisis BIOS recovery mode by pressing Fn + R at boot. The melodic error code changes, but nothing else happens regardless of whether a USB is inserted. I receive another...06-16-2025, 12:06 PM -
by claws77my laptop is lenovo flex 5 14ITL05
recently my power supply for this laptop developed a fault.
which caused a short in my usb c port -- verified with a new charger.
rant: so, i went to the repair tech in my country, he asked for a huge repair cost when i decided to get it done someplace else this "great person" nicked my bios chip, asked me to be aware for repair scams lol.
I was stupid and unable to find the flaw at the moment. Another repair tech told me that my bios chip was stolen and an 8mb bios chip is in place of that. he told me that a 32... - Loading...
