lenovo flex 5 14ITL05 bios and motherboard fault

my laptop is lenovo flex 5 14ITL05

recently my power supply for this laptop developed a fault.
which caused a short in my usb c port -- verified with a new charger.

rant: so, i went to the repair tech in my country, he asked for a huge repair cost when i decided to get it done someplace else this "great person" nicked my bios chip, asked me to be aware for repair scams lol.
I was stupid and unable to find the flaw at the moment. Another repair tech told me that my bios chip was stolen and an 8mb bios chip is in place of that. he told me that a 32 mb bios chip should be there.

he got my laptop booting but did not repair the usb c fault, told me to use the dc barrel connector adapter. i thought of using a connector (usb c to barrel type) with my new adapter, he said it was not possible.

the laptop works, charges, atleast i cannot detect the flaws. but once i shut down it does not powerup like it should . it takes a long time to show lenovo logo. sometimes keyboard flashes several times.

using lenovo vantage i thought of updating the bios as he (2nd guy) told he had to flash bios he had difficulty finding it.

the lenovo vantage cannot update the outdated bios. stating that 16 mb space required

I am sure the bios chip has the right size 256 mb and the same part number W25R256JVEIQ as in the schematic. i have checked personally.
why does it say 16 mb disk space needed.

Post a request for a proper bios in the dedicated bios forum.

      Try this:

      https://download.lenovo.com/consumer...s/fxcn47ww.exe

      reference:

      BIOS Update for Windows 10 (64-bit), Windows 11 (64-bit) - Flex 5-14ITL05, Flex 5-15ITL05 - Lenovo Support US

when i use this .exe file i do not get any log or error. PC just restarts later checking reveals no updation has taken place.

when i use the lenovo vantage app to update my bios this error is visible after restart
