Adding/unlocking CPU support for an HP EliteOne 800 G2 AIO

I bought a used HP EliteOne 800 G2 All in One PC, that has an i5 6500 in it with BIOS updates going into 2023. The Chipset in the AIO is a Q170, so in theory it should support 7th gen.

HP site only shows a few 6th gen supported, when i inserted an i7 7700k (dead mem. A channel, but would be good in the AIO since i can just put a single 16GB stick in there) with the newest 2.60 bios, the AIO powered on and beeped/flashed an error code for the RAM (3 long 2 short) in the first ram slot and in the other slot it powered on, restarted and then stayed on a blank screen.

I'm not sure if that means it detects it's a 7th gen and blocks it or if it just doesn't support it, but would i be possible to add/unlock support for 7th gen CPUs?
I know the Elitedesk 800 G2 supports 7th gen and is also running the Q170 chipset, could the support be "transferred" from the Elitedesk to this one or is adding CPU support next to impossible?

Might be a stupid question, but thanks for any help
