Dell optiplex 3080 micro password

I reused Rex98_8FC8_Patcher with the new bin file and I don't have any more errors. I would like your opinion on disabling the password before soldering the chip to my motherboard so that I don't have to do it multiple times to avoid damaging it. Has the password been deleted or is it still there? You will find the patched bin file attached.

Hello Together,
I need help removing bios password and absolute/computrace for OptiPlex 3080 Micro.
It's the first time I created a bios dump with a programmer, so I'm not quite sure if everything went well.
I've used a Raspberry Pi with flashrom software.
Can you please check if the dump is valid and do the necessary?
Thank you very much in advance.

First of all, I have to apologise that it has taken me so long to get back to you, but unfortunately the flu has hit me hard.
However, I would like to thank you very much for your help.
Everything worked really well.
You did a great job. 👍
May I ask how you modified my bios dump?
Did you modify the bios dump manually with a hex editor or did you also use special tools such as an 8FC8 patcher or similar?
I'm asking because I initially thought I could use the 8FC8 patcher, but then read that it can't be used to remove Absolute/Computrace.
So I decided not to use it and posted the bios dump here and asked for help.
After I flashed the modified dump, the machine started in factory mode as described here in the forum.
However, Absolute/Computrace showed still as Enabled in the Bios, which confused me a bit.
However, I was able to disable it permanently without any problems.
At least it is permanently disabled according to the display in the bios.
What I was also wondering about, the bios version of the modified bios dump was 2.28.1 from 13 Dec 2024.
But I could have sworn that the locked bios was a much older version.
You did modify the bios dump I uploaded, right?
So you didn't download a bios from Dell and modify it, right?
I'm sorry for asking so many questions and if my questions might sound dumb.
I just want to understand exactly.
You are welcome to reply to me via private message if for some reason you do not want to answer these questions publicly in the forum.
I'm actually not a technical dummy and always like to understand how things work and therefore would have preferred to do everything myself.
At least I managed to read the bios dump with a Raspberry Pi and the Flashrom software without desoldering the chip and to wire everything correctly beforehand.
That wasn't so easy either and I'm a bit proud of it. 😀
Unfortunately, in my opinion, the information regarding the bios dump modification via hex editor that I could find on the internet was too unspecific for my explicit scenario with exactly the Dell Optiplex 3080 Micro.
Reading hex code is not exactly my cup of tea. 😑
It was too risky for me and I didn't want to brick the machine.
So I decided to ask the experts here in the forum for help.
Thank you once again!

Hello, I had a dead 3080 Micro (No video, no lights, no fan spin) and I flashed the bin above, it worked and I could write the service tag now, however the computer takes a very long time to start. Upwards of 15 seconds to show video output and the dell logo.
Also it shows the error "TPM Not Found" I tried to remove the CMOS Battery, held the power button for 30 seconds and the BIOS settings reverted to factory, Absolute was enabled and TPM was visible in the BIOS.
I disabled Absolute, rebooted and TPM is not showing in the BIOS anymore but I don't get the error in the picture anymore.
Is also running windows 11 normally, drivers installed, latest bios and firmware from dell.
Do you recommend reflashing a different variant or BIOS?
I still have the original dump where no video no lights, etc.

Thanks bbanana, but it looks like now it won't boot, don't know what happened. I wrote the chip, verified, all good. Now the machine powers on instantly when I plug the power and seems to boot loop every 2-3 seconds or so, no output at all.
I'll try to remove it again and rewrite the old image, hopefully it'll boot... But I'm trying to minimize the soldering/damage.Comment

The BIOS that worked for me was on the reply #17 of this post:

That's the direct link just so I don't upload a duplicate file
