Hi All,
I am not sure if there is any problem with capcitors on the motherboard.
The motherboard has got some TK capacitors (Toshin Kogyo)
6.3V 820uf (Taiwanese made capcitors) electrolytic type.
The total is 17 pcs.
VRM of the motherboard are using metal capacitors, but I cannot
identify the manufacturer. Total is 7 pcs.
There is no bulging found on the capacitors.
But I bit worry about the mosfets.
To me, it does not look like in good condition.
I cannot tell why there is a yellow colouring appeared on the affected mosfets.
The symptom of this motherboard is when viewing live video streaming
the video display on the monitor is slow.
Since I discovered the problem, I replaced it with another motherboard- Asus
P5KPLAM- everything works just fine. That is using the same VGA, CPU, RAM,
HARD DISK, PSU. So in other words, after changing the motherboard from
P5QPLAM to P5KPLAM, the symptom, never came back.
I am suspecting the likely cause of the problem is the mosfets.
Should I replace the mosfets? (I know it is not worth fixing it, but I am doing it
for purpose of learning how to fix it)
If replacing them, where do I get the mosfets from? eBay?
How to get the correct mosfets?
Most appreciate if someone can give an advice.
Please see the picture attached.
Thank you.
