Help identifying components EVGA RTX 2080 Black Edition

    Hello,

I have this EVGA RTX 2080 Black Edition (Printed EVGA196) graphics card that works just fine when idling but quickly heats under a load.

I noticed fan speed always stays @ 0 rpm which is a problem. Under close graphics card examination, I found a burn spot near the FAN connector. Also, both pins 5 and 6 on the PCIx1 key are showing 13 ohms.
Voltage injections on either of these pins has revealed U628 heating up. I am including a photo of this component. It's some kind of a mosfet switch with markings "ELMAC" (letter "C" has underscore). Sifting thru donor boards, I found some "GAF" chips that look just like this chip but I don't know whether it is a match or a good replacement for it. I do not wish to kill this motherboard foolishly.

I do not have either boardview or schematics for this graphics card. I hope someone can help me identify this component. Also, if you can look at that burn spot, perhaps it used to contain a component. I would be needing this info as well.

    Thanks.

Thank you for responding. Can I substitute this IC chip for AP2204K (GAF) chip?

Also, for testing purposes, Can I remove the shorted chip, bypass it by connecting Vin to Vout?

Yes. This will allow me to test the circuit.

Can you tell me whether this chip is related to fan control? Also, I provided a photo of the burn spot. It is located directly under the fan harness. Do you know if there was a component there? Without boardview or a donor board I am clueless.

Last question. I found this IC here: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...3-33GB/2470048

It looks like I can use it in this circuit. Can you confirm?

I removed the chip and the short is gone. I hard wired pins 1 and 5. No change. Fan speed is still showing 0 RPM
