Imac 2012 format

Hi guys,

Just found this old but nice IMac 2012.
current user had a password which i dont know.
i want to format it and do a clean IOS installation.
i tried command. + R after powering on but it didn’t do anything and IOS continued to load.
i tried the online recovery but it gave me denied icon after connecting to the Wifi.

is there any working method to format it?
guess i can take the long way of ordering the prying tools and format the hdd using another pc.
but i was hoping for another quicker solution.

Resolved by clearing PRAM
Option Command P R

it restored apple startup sounds and command R started working.

i erased the mac data partition and reinstalled Catalina.

iMac (2012 model) A1419, EMCNo: 2639 not starting up

Hi, EMC 2639 .iMac not starting up. Single dim diagnostic LED (LE0301) flashes off briefly when power button pressed. Working through supply rails at present (PP5V_S5 appears shorted to ground but still early days)

Using Boardview 820-4652 but not sure if that is correct one to use. Have searched Forum but only found bios found for 2639 so far.
Have also tried 820-00134-08 and 820-3478 but have noticed discrepancies compared to my board.

If anyone has correct BOARDVIEW and SCHEMATIC for a EMC 2639 I would really appreciate it before I get too far into this.

Imac late 2012 booting problem

sometimes it can boot normally and sometimes cant turn on at all...i actually dont know where to start for diagnos...already replace power supply but problem still persist....i check power button with buzzer and it still in good condition...when cannot turn on, only 1LED shows....i try using tweezer to jumper power button but also not working....need to rest imac for about 2-3 hours then it will boot normally

Apple iMac 21,5" 2012 - Distorted display
