    Asus p4ge-mx dead?

Heya, i recently recieved a bunch of computer parts including an Asus P4ge-mx mobo. It had two crappy ltec craps bulging, one near the memory and the other one next to the chipset. I replaced both with nichicons but the board is still dead. It powers up but no picture from the igp and the cpu ain't getting warm. Im suspecting the OST craps in the vrm circuit but i am not sure, they are not bulging. The cpu is fine, it's a 2.8 cellery. Board dead?
Would make a nice board for a matx case

First off what did you replace the ltec with? Nichi HE HN HM HZ?

OST are notorious of failing without issue, they either short or go open.

Rip them out and replace with nichicons, panasonics, UCC, Rubycon brands, you can purchase these in the states via mouser and digikey.

Lol, i actually replaced them with united chemi-con kzg, i thought i put nichis but oh well shit happens. But they are 100% operational. I have some Rubycons that are the same size as the OSTs, i will see if the specs match. There are also 3 united chemi-con kze-s near the cpu that look okay, should i replace them? The ltecs i replaced were 1000uf 6.3v, the kze-s i replaced them with are the same spec. The 3 kze-s are 16v 1200uf and the OSTs are 6.3v 1500uf. There is a 10v 680uf GSC near the chipset, that also has to go probably.

It turns out that the rubys are bigger. All i can replace the 6.3v 1500uf OSTs with are some cheapo 6.3v 1000uf G-luxons, i'm going to hit up the store some time soon and see if i can get some nice quality caps for replacement

Check the MOSFETs on the rails on which the blown caps were connected to. Sometimes, a bad cap can cause MOSFETs to blow (or worse, a blown buck controller too - as was the case with a Shuttle computer of mine).

I'll check it later, i have a huge box of boards buried in my computer closet, it's in there lol and i don't want to pull it out. I think the MOSFETs should be fine, it only had 2 bulged caps, one next to the norhtbridge and one next to the memory. At first i tought that there is no picture because the NB/video was getting no power due to the bulged cap, but i guess i was wrong
