First of all I'm new to the forum and want to say thank you for any advice anyone could give me.
I have 2 of the ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe motherboards in my sons computer. One day one of the computers would not boot.I removed it and I have a little test station that I trouble shoot some of the older computers I picked up over the years and tinker with. The mother board CPU fan will come on and stay running but I get no post beeps or any other sound that it is going into bios. The screen is blank.I've change out components with the second computer eg. power supply,CPU,memory, cleared the bios and I still get the same thing.
At this point I just put it back in the box and left it at that. I repaired two of my samsung monitors which had bad capacitors and they now work fine. This made me start thinking about the motherboard again.Ive look real closely at the capacitors and don't see any of them bulged or leaking but alot of them are sitting cockeyed. The question is I'm not sure where to start as I don't have a lot of knowledge on this subject.Would I be better of just replacing all of them or is there a way to test them.I guess I could just buy a new one but I enjoy learning about new stuff like this and I get a good feeling just to be able to fix something and have a project with my son's.
Any ones thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
All the best
