ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE Rev 1.01 Help

First of all I'm new to the forum and want to say thank you for any advice anyone could give me.
I have 2 of the ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe motherboards in my sons computer. One day one of the computers would not boot.I removed it and I have a little test station that I trouble shoot some of the older computers I picked up over the years and tinker with. The mother board CPU fan will come on and stay running but I get no post beeps or any other sound that it is going into bios. The screen is blank.I've change out components with the second computer eg. power supply,CPU,memory, cleared the bios and I still get the same thing.
At this point I just put it back in the box and left it at that. I repaired two of my samsung monitors which had bad capacitors and they now work fine. This made me start thinking about the motherboard again.Ive look real closely at the capacitors and don't see any of them bulged or leaking but alot of them are sitting cockeyed. The question is I'm not sure where to start as I don't have a lot of knowledge on this subject.Would I be better of just replacing all of them or is there a way to test them.I guess I could just buy a new one but I enjoy learning about new stuff like this and I get a good feeling just to be able to fix something and have a project with my son's.
Any ones thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
    All the best

    Not all bad caps bloat.
If you have OST or KZG, those -often- fail without bloating.
[There are others but that's what I'd expect on this board.]
    .
Other than that list what caps you have.
    Make/series for now.

The only 'usual suspect' [other than possibly the unknowns] is the KZG.

This board is newer than I thought at first.
There is a good chance it has one of the defective nVidia Chipsets.
In most cases that means it's toast but there are some 'red neck'/'ghetto' fixes that sometimes work.
Someone else should come along for guidance on what you can try because I don't even try.

You might want to also inspect the PSU and it's caps.
[Don't have it plugged in while it's open. The heatsinks can be energized.]

        On the caps.
        ~~
        These don't make sense.
pansonic KZG 16v 470uf [AFAIK KZG is only a Chemicon Series.]
        and
        pansonic g11gz 6.3 1500uf
        pansonic 650EF 16v 1000uf
I flat don't know what these two are from that.
Those #'s might be Panasonic date codes.

        Nippon is presumably Nippon Chemi-con.
There are several other _____ Chemi-con.
We usually just call them Chemicon or UCC [for United Chemi-con].
        Their logo is a shield.

Panasonic's logo is an M in a box.
The M is for Matsushita, the original company name.
But, they don't always use the logo now. [Which doesn't help us much.]
        .

As to what I would do in your shoes.
I would find a board the CPU and RAM work with that doesn't have an nVidia chipset.
IMHO the ghetto fix is a lot of trouble, it doesn't always work at all, and it doesn't necessarily get you much more life out of it.

That board is not worth the time...

I spent a good half-hour re-capping an Acer board that had a few OST and Teapo. Put it back in and it wouldn't post. I did a double-take and I looked up the specs. Sure enough, it had an nVidia chipset, as yours does.

Harvest the caps, coils, mosfets or whatever floats your boat and chuck it in the trash.
"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

If you would like to try the reflow method using a heat gun, see my own personal experience at reflowing a Nvidia chipset at

            https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=16609

The board still works today with no problems. Post #1 may also give you ideas on other things to try before a reflow.

            Obviously YMMV.

PS. A POST card is less than $2 USD with free shipping on ebay. That is how I got mine.
