P5K WS Won't run big video cards

    Hello,

My p5k ws motherboard works fine with a Geforce 7600gs but as soon as I try to use a more powerful video card, the screen will go black within 15 minutes and I have to cold boot. I bought a nice power supply just in case that was the problem.

    Here is my rig:
Asus P5K WS with latest BIOS
    Core 2 Duo E6500
    2x2GB Kingston PC2-800
XFX Radeon HD4870 (I also tried an HD5450)
    Antec TR2 RX 750W P/S

Is it possible that one of these so called Japanese Polymer caps are bad? If so, where should I look first (This board has about 30 caps). These don't even look like Fujitsu:

    Thanks a million.

Does the more powerful card have any power connectors on it that you have not hooked up to the power supply? Are there any extra power connectors on the motherboard itself that are not hooked up to the power supply?
This is not likely a motherboard capacitor issue. Does the big card have SACON caps on it - look for "FZ" markings on the video card caps. XFX loves those crappy caps.
