    Asus a8ae-le

    Hello all,

This motherboard is in a Compaq Presario SR1650NX Desktop Computer. The computer was working fine last night but was freezing up which happens alot but I turned it off and it would not come back on.

I open the side and start looking for loose connections etc and notice a cap that was bulging, I get a flash light and look closer and find more thats when I knew it needed new caps.

So I put in a order with digikey last night and added over night shipping, it gets here at 8:34am this morning and I replace all the bad caps aswell as a few others and its up and running again. I will also have a list of the bad caps aswell as their replacements.

This was also my first motherboard recap

I did not replace the 1500uf 6.3v rubycons or the 1800uf 6.3v rubycon and the other I didnt replace was because I thought It was a 820uf 6.3v cap but it was a 470uf 16v cap I did not have one and I used Panasonic caps from digikey and I have to say their chat help is top notch!
