    Biostar V7602DS21 bad

Video card started giving problems several months ago. I found a couple of bulging capacitors which I replaced. Now the video has large rectangular blocks in the screen instead of high definition video.

This card is pci-e x16. I was looking at some replacement cards, but everything seems to be pci-e 2.0. I'm not sure if the pci-e 2.0 will work in my socket 939 mobo.

As a temporary fix I am running a pci VooDoo 3 with 16 meg of memory. Yes, it does work! But it doesn't do videos very well. Any suggestions?

    pci-e 2.0 is backward compatible with 1.0.

pci x16 is the slot size. then there are several versions, like 1.0, 2.0, and 2.1 they are all backwards- and forwards-compatible
