Hi all
I'm using a USB-C dock made by origin. It has a few USB A ports, two have stopped delivering 5V.
I opened the unit and found a USB controller made by Realtek, which controls whether the 5V is being delivered to the ports by lowering some pins which reach a couple of transistors which turn on or off the power.
The IC in question is RTS5412S. I can find the data sheet for the RTS5411 but not the 5412.
I see the transistors (I'm guessing they are, they're labelled A8AL9N.
I see a similar IC on another port and it's got 5V on a pin whereas the non-working ports have 0V on the same pins.
According to the 5411 data sheet, there is a power enable pin and a over current protection pin. Before I blindly replace the IC, I'd like to prove those pins to find out whether the IC has gone or there is some external trigger happening.
Also I read that the 5411 has firmware so wondering whether I can just replace those IC and expect them to work.
I've contacted Realtek asking for the data sheet, just wondering if anybody had any information about this RTS5412S IC
Thanks!
