    How to do this?

    See attached network map. I'm trying to create an unsecured guest network with an old Linksys router I put DD-WRT on.
    I'm running into problems getting "Server 4" to work. I am going to use Wireshark to gather all data packets that go through my guest network.

    But, do I use the Bridge Connections function in XP? Or Internet Connection Sharing? Neither seem to work! I mean, I can't reach any website when I connect to the Linksys, if you know what I mean!

    I suck at networking, so

    I'm not 100% sure but it may help if you get better wireless kit with, say, maybe 6 blue squiggles rather than 3

      Lol!
      I figured it out...
      I just put the Linksys router in a different spot on the network directly connected to the 2Wire DSL Modem...
      Because, the WNR2000v3 and the WRT54G just count as computers to the modem and they do whatever routing they want
      And I just put both routers through a hub i got off ebay before it connects to the modem so I can monitor all network traffic. Then I set up the Linksys as an unsecured network "Guest" I just have to make a login page now "Free to use but may be monitored"...

        I don't think I'd do that...

        What happens when some weirdo drives up outside your house, and starts downloading child porn or something on your connection and then you get the blame?

        If you run a free WiFi connection I hope you have your own blocklist\filter or something in place to prevent anything like that.

          The likelihood of that is slim to nil. I don't think more than a handful of child porn types around.. that's why it always makes the news.

          More likely that someone cards using your connection or does some other hacking.

                Well, see, I've alleviated the problem of child porn.
                I've limited the connection to 800k down, 200k up. Nobody's going to wait for that to download using that slow connection. However, it will work fine for people just emailing or chatting...You don't need a super fast connection for most web stuff...
                And I've enabled AP Isoltion, so I don't think the Guest users can hack each others computers... (I hope I guessed right that AP Isolation makes it so they can't access each other)...
