Can you see the display using a flashlight?

If no and you have a multimeter, check the fuses. Turn off the power and unplug your monitor. Put your multimeter on the lowest ohm setting and measure the resistance across the fuse. It should read 0.3 ohms.

Also, please post clear focused pictures of your boards (top down and both sides) after reading the instructions at ...

thanks for reply....it's totally black screen after power on. i had check the output supply from mainboard to the inverter board. pins 2,3,4 are GROUND and 4,5,6 are 13v. reading from the multimeter tap from 2,3,4 and 4,5,6 showing 13v...correct voltage......any idea???

Different monitors use different voltages. Some power board PCBs have the voltages printed right on them. We can verify if we see a picture (hint).

There are also fuses on the inverter board which might be open.

Transistors can also be open which might cause a black screen.

The fuses in the above URL are F101 (next to AC input) and green "jellybean" next to the word "DIP".

Fuses are designated with the letter "F" on PCB boards. Picofuses use "PF".

If both test 0.3 ohms, I'll need a better picture (top down view of both sides). The above pic is angled and obscures some components.

i had attached the picture for your reference pls take a look. the fuse (F101)
reading was 0.3 ohms, beside the DIP word the capacitor (680uf) already replaced.

Just to confirm, what is the ohms reading on F301? What do you mean by show none?

If the green pico type inverter fuse is blown (meter should read OL on ohms or not beep on continuity) one of those 4 pin DIP packages (inverter driver FETs) are shorted as well.

The fact that you're not even getting a flash of light signifies the inverter fuse is blown. The main PSU has to be functioning since the main board is still illuminating the power led.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

And if the FETs are shorted, you must resolder all the transformer pins.

What is the part number of those 2 FETs?

FET is short for MOSFET. I think they are referring to the two black devices near the center of the board between the two caps. They each have 4 legs on each side.

If you have no reading, or 0L or 1 on your multimeter, that means infinite. Therefore F301 is shorted and will require replacement. I suggest ordering 2 of them after you test the FETs.

Yes, I that is what I meant OPEN, not shorted.

Okay, let me try this again.

                                      FUSE
                                      ====

A good fuse should measure around 0.3 ohms. To measure a fuse,

                                      1) turn the power off and unplug the monitor.
                                      2) Put the black probe in the COM jack.
                                      3) Put the red probe in the ohm jack.
                                      4) If you have a manual range multimeter, set it to the lowest setting (usually 200 ohm).
                                      5) Put the black probe on one side on the fuse.
                                      6) Put the red probe on the other side on the fuse.

If the fuse reads 0L, it is a bad fuse.

If F101 reads 0.8 ohms, it is probably a good fuse. If F301 reads 0L, it is a bad fuse.

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...
