Re: Asus vg248qe purple light problem

hi gentlemen, I can't open a new post because I'm new. I have my asus vw246h that to make it turn on I always have to unplug. I changed all the electrolytics on the power supply board but nothing.

    Not easy to get the MP2125 ( https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/mp2125.html )
    Any alternative which would fit?

Took off L407 and resistance relative to ground from upper choke 0.3 ohm and bottom choke has 220 ohm

On the L407 - 1 Om, this is very small (short circuit) on this bus, there are two options, either the U402 MP2125 microcircuit itself burned out or something that sits on this bus ceramic capacitors ...
It is necessary to unsolder the choke L407 and check the resistance at both points relative to ground.

    Voltage between GND
    L406 has 1.23v and 1.21v
    L407 has 0.21v and 0.29v

    Resistance
    L406 has 300ohm and 300ohm
    L407 has 1ohm and 1ohm

Removed the two caps and measured
    L406 has 137ohm and 137ohm
    L407 has 1ohm and 1ohm

    L406 has 0.94v and 1.2v
    L407 has 0.08v and 0.2v

0.4 Ohm is a short circuit, unsolder these two capacitors, which I soldered to the board and re-measure the resistance on the left choke

0.91v between the chokes. Right ones resistance is 144 ohm and left one 0.4 ohm.

Should I check voltage ? Seems like pin8 is VCC and pin4 is GND

How to get the latest firmware? On Asus site there is a driver with .inf, .icm and .cat files

Wanted to add that Windows 10 sees the display as "generic PnP". I was able to update driver from device manager to the latest from Asus site.

Asus VG248QE won't power on / purple light
    by gamartinelli
    Hello,

I have an Asus VG248QE that all suddenly stopped working. Everything was fine, I had my PC connected to the HDMI port and never had any issues. Then I decided to plug a laptop in the DisplayPort (USB-C to DP cable). It worked fine for a few hours, I left, at some point the monitor went to sleep mode and when I came back and moved the mouse monitor didn't wake up. The power button lights up in blue when the signal is good and amber when in sleep mode / no signal turned purple (first time I saw that). Did some research but couldn't find a way to bring my monitor back to life....

    ASUS X712JA problem
    by AtelierRepa
    Hello,

I have a problem with the bios, let me explain.

With BIOS 1, the pc takes +- 30 seconds to display the ASUS logo (black screen) and to boot.

I did a clear ME, my black screen problem for 30 seconds at boot is solved, it gives me directly the display and boots quickly.

My problem is that now, once the charger is plugged in and I put a slight load on the processor, it bogs down to 0.39GHz...
The only solution is to unplug the charger to get the cpu back up to speed. But as soon as I plug in the charger, it goes straight back down....

Asus GA402RK keyboard and kb backlight problem
    by Dobrowol
Hi. I have a problem with Asus ROG GA402RK. The keyboard suddenly stopped working along with the kb backlight. I replaced the keyboard and the ITE KBC chip and the problem is still the same. I don't see any passive elements that look damaged. Does anyone have an idea?
