Hi folks. Anyone got some pointers for this one? I temporarily replaced four of eight 100uf 35 volt caps. (the four remaining passed ESR with flying colours, but when I get get my parts order in all eight wil be replaced). I did this as a check to see if the problem persists. It apparantly does. The SMPS checks out ok. The monitor will still only flash once in a blue moon. All fuses ok. Nothing is noticably running hot, or burnt. There is a turn on signal from the "control" board. Good, stable 24 volts to the inverter. (normal for this monitor) Any ieas?

Re: Mag model 2600
Didn't mean to sound impatient. Yes the fuses are all fine, as are the MOSFET drivers. I still must look up the IC datasheet. In the meantime I removed the mainboard and found many bad surface mount caps! I don't know if this will affect the inverter's operation, but looks like I will have to repair the mainboard, so I will need to order more caps. At that point I set it aside to persue other repairs. (A Sony receiver, and a JVC amplifier). I will devise a test scheme for the inverter board, and check it out with the datasheet next. Thanks, I'll keep you posted.Comment

Re: Mag model 2600
the caps I put on the board are ones I had here, branded EKM, all measured less than one on the esr meter. the reason for doing tis was to confirm if this was the only problem. I will be replacing all 8 with high quality low esr parts.Comment

Re: Mag model 2600
Did you take out the MOSFETs (packaged like an IC)? Outboard tests are needed. OZ960GN rarely fails. If ok, go back to the supply board.Comment

by edugimenoHi!!
Yesterday I was installing a new Wifi thermostat for my domestic gas water heater model Vaillant 242/2-3, and accidentlly one wire from mains touched one wire from the thermostat output contacts. This shut off the heater so I finished installing the thermostat and then went out to check the heater
I found one fuse blown (T2 250V). Replaced it with another equivalent fuse and it blew right away. I measured L-N in mains input and I sometimes got 4K but sometimes, not sure why, I got 100 Ohm...
At a certain point, moving stuff around, I put all wires back in place and... - Loading...
