Samsung 2333T LCD - pressing Enter button has random results

Samsung 2333T LCD - About 6 years old , Works great except when attempting to make any adjustments which of course requires the use of the Enter button.

There are 6 buttons located at right side of LCD: Menu, Up, Down, Enter, Auto and Power.

All of the buttons work properly except for Enter, Pressing this will either power off the LCD or it will act as Down button, When the symptom first started occuriing it would act as Power but for the last few weeks pressing Enter navigates Down in the OSD, At first thought maybe I was pressiong the wrong button but just to let you know I am 100% pressing enter lol.

I've tried unplugging power overnight but it didn't change symptoms, I have not attempted to open it yet.

Any ideas appreciated.

I'm a bit of a newb with diagnosing electronics but i'm comfortable with a multimeter / soldering.

if you are using the remote it needs stripping and cleaning .
if it happens on tv and remote there is a strange fault .. maybe a simple poor connection . or something more sinister .

usually these monitors use a series of resistors with tack switches accross them, if a switch develops a bit of resistance it can cause the wrong function to be activated, Try changing the tack switches (for the buttons) or at least change the enter switch with one of the others and see if a different function happens when that button is pressed
