Found one of these at a car boot - used to be OK, but it started playing up recently - either going blank or turn off turn on again to get it working "Out of range" it was saying & a look round on the net, found others with the same problem with these but no solution - so, as its a gloomy day, I decided to rip it apart - not easy as some screws are hidden - under the base stand the two little covers slide left & right, then you have 6 screws to remove - done that? then after removal of the base, 2 more hidden screws to remove!
They really don't want these repaired - do they?
Then gently unclip the plastic cover - once in, more screws to remove on the metal cover over the power/inverter board: "Xlm1700390032" on which I found C817 leaking & bulging - a 680uf 16v - I replaced it with a 35v 105deg one. Seems fine now, with a brighter picture 100% of the time!
It may be used in other monitors, please post alternative badges to help others it has a nice glass screen.
