    Hanns G HH251 2 seconds to black.

Hello all, this is my first post so I will attempt to be as thorough in my description as possible.

    Make:Hanns G
    Model: HH251
    Type Num: HH251HBUFN24
    MFG Date: APR 2009

Gripe: This is a second hand monitor that I picked up for a very reasonable price. After a bit of research I realized that this is a common problem with this series of monitors. When connected via VGA or HDMI to two different Known Good computers, power LED comes on and stays on, while screen shows NO SIGNAL then runs to full black out mode. If hooked to the KG's before powering on the monitor, monitor will display extended background of both, so it appears that video input/processing is functioning 4.0. Cycling power nets the same result.

I am currently still in the process of tearing the monitor town and isolating both the power board and the video board and will have non-potato quality pictures as soon as possible. A few other around the house chores need to be completed before I can dig back into this and start running power and continuity tests. Visual inspection of all components, at a casual glance, show no obvious signs such as leakage or burn out.

Also, it is highly likely that my wife will require some kind of Feat of Strength and Loyalty within the next 3 hours, as it is the weekend. I look forward to any advice (that I haven't been able to find after going through several threads) or protips provided.

You need to upgrade the program to EPPROM.
I experienced similar to Acer monitor.

Was that EDID EEPROM or main program?
