    A2141 issues after display replacement

    Hi everyone,
I have replaced a broken display on A2141 with a good one, taken from similar model, now the image and backlight works fine. But the camera, the true tone and keyboard backlight is not working. I made some research on internet but I am still not sure how to fix it, according to logiwiki the A2141 display is compatible with all similar model but we need to use a1707 flex cable, so my questions are:
1-does the cable will make every thing work fine ?
2-Do we need to swap display IC chips from the old display to make everything work correctly,( I saw it on multiple video but mainly for new models)
3- Does the only thing that works is to change only the lcd by keeping all the other display parts ?

    Thank you

Here below is the discussion I had with mon2 regarding this issue. To resume the issue have been solved by using A1707 display cable as suggested in logi.wiki

Would you still have the original LCD assembly that was shipped with the machine? If yes, the remedy may be to use only the LCD (new) + old camera inside of the housing to retain the camera which is paired and also to restore TrueTone. That is what Master Liu noted for another repair about a week ago. Apple is working overtime of these encrypted and paired hardware pieces.

Here is a video that confirms what you are observing:

Thank you, So why on logi.wiki they write that A2141 display is compatible with all similar model but we need to use a1707 flex cable ? I will receive it soon and test it, maybe it will restore the keyboards back-light

Will be interested to hear of your feedback with the A1707 flex cable. The wiki does report the compatibility. The truetone is likely still to not work since the paired camera is no longer the same in the new display assembly.

Hi, putting the A1707 cable solved all the issues. Everything is working fine camera, True Tone and the keyboard backlight. I don't understand how but it is.

Before I change the cable I found the original issue of the original display, it was a short circuit on the power supply to the camera (blown inductor need the display connector), after a tough time repairing it, I tried first with the original cable but it was same as before no camera and so on. Then I put the A1707 cable then tadaaaa . I will put our conversation in the post I have created earlier so it can help the community.
