    Acer predator z35p no display

I have a acer predator z35p just went off while in use.
I have a blue power led but no response when plugging in a source.

When It powers up I get 2 leds on the gsync pcb that flash on and off within a second of the power being plugged in. I can measure 20v at various plugs including the led driver board plug. No voltage on the tcon board.

I found a mosfet 6679gh was shorted from drain to source on the main board so I removed it and tested out of circuit and it was still shorted from drain to source so I will replace it. It's a little bit strange though as the way it is fitted it will always be shorted from drain to source.

There is another of these mosfet on the same board and that one isn't shorted so I'm sure the shorted one is faulty.

Does anyone have any experience with these monitors?

Well I replaced the mosfet but still no joy. I've measured voltage on all the caps and have 3.3v 5v 12v and 20v. I've also plugged the monitor into my laptop and it picks it up as a z35p bit no change at all.

From some reading I've done I've seen quite a few z35p showing the same issue and I think it's probably being caused by a faulty G-sync module. When I power the monitor up the 2 leds on the G-sync module flash on and off very briefly. It seems that these G-sync modules run quite hot and fail. I did find someone who has a issue on a differet monitor with a G-sync module and he managed to get it working again for a short time by reflowing the main proccesor so I thought I'd give it a go. I looked up the data sheet for the main processor and it's about 900 or so pins and my cheap rework station and a load of flux never it it hot enough to melt the solder balls so it was a failure.

I think I'm just going to have to wait until a smashed unit panel unit becomes available to repair it.

Has anyone got any experience of working with the se nvidia g-snyc modules? I've seen a few from other similar sized monitors that look the same but I'm not sure if they are interchangeable. Is it possible to use one from another machine and swap the firmware chip over or is the main processor programmed to the specific panel?
